Why get your watch pressure tested?
Quartz watches need less servicing than mechanical watches, but the seals that keep water out wear over time, and they can be disturbed whenever the case is opened, such as during a battery change. A pressure test shows whether your watch is still sealed before it gets wet, so you find out before water gets inside, not after. It’s worth doing every time the battery is changed, and before you wear a water-resistant watch for swimming or the beach.
Water damage is not covered by our 1-year workmanship warranty, or if the watch has not been pressure tested. Even if your watch passes, a crown that is not screwed in snugly, or pushed into its home position, can let water in. This can be costly and sometimes does irreversible damage to the parts.
